Hi Judy,I just wanted to tell you that my sister received her book 2 days ago (which was super fast) and I got mine today. My sister said she looked through it and loves it! I also can't wait to start trying out the recipes :-) Thank you again for shipping so quickly and adding the personal touch of emailing me.I think it's an amazing organization and a great cause and I am going to work on my friends to contribute a donation as soon as possible.Ronit Heiblum (Rishon Le Zion, Israel)
"THANKS FOR THE DELIGHTFUL COOKBOOK."Aviva Kempner--writer, producer & director--"Yoo-Hoo Mrs. Goldberg", Washington D.C.
"I got the your new book today and it's simply amazing. The depth and breadth of the work you did in organizing it is beyond impressive. I'm so proud of you, it's really a special collection that so many people will enjoy and cherish. Again, congratulations on a stellar publication. You're really something and I love you."
Sandie Royce Kaster (Minneapolis, MN)
"Judy, I now have the books in my possession. I've spent the last couple of hours going over them, and believe me, I'm thrilled! After Pesach I will definitely will be trying out some recipes.
I love the presentation of the books. I think it was money well spent! When you have another one ready, please let me know to get it fresh off the press!"
Margie Koplowitz (Rehovot, Israel)
"I got your cookbook, and I am so impressed with it, both with the recipes (many of them Iraqi dishes that I learned from my mother-in-law but could never pin down or write out!), and with the wonderful style in which the book is written (so warm and people-friendly).
And that's not even mentioning how impressed I am with your whole memorial project and all the work being done at Merkaz Rachel. I am sure if Rachel herself is watching from her perch on a cloud in heaven, she is wreathed in smiles!
It's a great book and a wonderful project!"
Mimi Semuha (Tzfat, Israel)
"Knowing that purchasing this cookbook helps children-in-need makes the experience of cooking these wonderful YUMMY recepies even greater! It's a perfect gift for the holidays combined with TZEDAKA --- that's a NO BRAINER!!!"
Eytan Elias (Netanya, Israel)
"I am really looking forward to using Judy's new cookbook. As soon as I received it I sat down and looked for new recipe ideas.
I noticed that something really unique is the combination of traditional Ashkenazi and Sephardic/Mizrahi recipes---which is especially appealing to someone like me in a "mixed" marriage (also Ashkenazi/Iraqi-Indian!) My only problem now is which cookbook I should consult first---What's For Dinner or Maternal Instincts???"
Bari Kleiner Elias (Netanya, Israel)
"I received a copy of the Maternal Instincts book in the mail and it is great. It was fun seeing my grandmother's photo and recipe in there. The book is filled with so many good recipes. I especially want to try the kugel ones. Next week I will be ordering several books as gifts to my mom, sister and aunts. I like the color and design of the cover. Mazel Tov!"Shari Frailich Cohen (Los Angeles)
"You have done such an outstanding job of collecting, organizing and putting together a gorgeous cookbook."Anne Rae Sanderson (St. Paul, MN)
"What's for Dinner?"
"Thank you for bringing the cook book to me yesterday. I looked through it and it really is good. There are a lot of recipes I will try. Most of the recipes are relatively simple, which I like. Also, I like the layout of the recipes (easy to read) and of the book (easy to find things).I got a kick out of the 50's pictures and the quotes from products. Being age 56, I too grew up in the 50's and 60's.I will definitely consider buying more cook books as gifts for people in the USA (Chicago area) when I visit next year. Not only is it a great cook book, but what makes it more special is that the money goes to a good cause. Kol HaKavod!"Susan Block Goldman (Jerusalem)
"I just wanted to let you know that I love the cookbook and I would like to order another copy."Eileen Diner (Moshav Yishi)
"I want you to know that I am greatly enjoying the cookbook and have already earmarked a few recipes to try. The first I made on Sat. night (Salmon with pecans)...I made a large quantity and froze some so I should be good for a few weeks of salmon. I also found some good desserts which use canola oil since I am trying to bake without margerine. So thank you again for everything."
Sharon Perry (Jerusalem)
"What a wonderful project. I just received the cookbooks--have only glanced at them, but loved the picture of you and your Mom."
